We are a community passionate about Jesus, the Kingdom of God, the Holy Spirit, authentic community, discipleship and mission.

We’re a diverse church family rooted in Scripture and centred on Christ, growing together in authentic community and learning to live out the Kingdom wherever God has placed us.

Leadership

Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did

Our purpose is to glorify God and advance His Kingdom by worshipping Him, preaching and teaching the good news of Jesus, making and equipping disciples for ministry, caring for people, serving those who are vulnerable, and engaging in mission in our city and beyond — including planting new churches.

How do we want to live

Be with Jesus: Growing in relationship with Jesus through worship, prayer, Scripture and community.

Become Like Jesus: Allowing the Holy Spirit to shape our character, relationships and everyday lives.

Do what Jesus did: Joining Jesus in loving people, serving our city, sharing the Gospel and making disciples.

Our Doing Words

The way we unpack walking as Jesus.

Go - Because the Kingdom is near and the Spirit sends us, we step out into people’s real lives.

Love - We reflect God’s heart with open hands and hearts, carrying no bitterness.

Show - We demonstrate the Kingdom through acts of kindness, generosity, mercy, justice, healing, and Spirit-led compassion.

Tell - We speak the good news of Jesus—the new Adam, the King who brings restoration.

Equip - We train and empower one another with the gifts of the Spirit for mission and maturity.

Repeat - Mission is a cycle of Kingdom life. Always going, loving, showing, telling, and equipping again.

Our Big Ideas

We believe in one God. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible is God's Word, that Jesus is Lord and that salvation is found in Him. We believe the Holy Spirit is active and at work today, equipping and empowering God's people to live and minister as followers of Jesus

Part of Something Bigger

God & City Church is part of the Immerse Network and New Wine UK, a family of churches and a network of leaders. Committed to Spirit-filled life, the Kingdom of God and mission. We believe churches are stronger when we walk together, learn from one another and share in what God is doing.

Teachings
& Practices

We believe in one God. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe the Bible is God's Word, that Jesus is Lord and that salvation is found in Him. We believe the Holy Spirit is active and at work today, equipping and empowering God's people to live and minister as followers of Jesus.

The one true God who lives eternally in three persons – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

The love, grace and reign of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.

The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God – fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.

The dignity of all people, made male and female in God’s image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement.

The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.

Jesus revealed and inaugurated God’s kingdom by ministering in the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit, calling his disciples to follow Him, become like Him, and continue His works.

The atoning sacrifice of Jesus on the cross; dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.

The bodily resurrection of Jesus, the first fruits of our resurrection, bringing new life and, in self-giving love, attains victory over sin, Satan, and death.

Jesus’ ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world.

All who repent of sin and receive Jesus Christ by faith are born again by the Holy Spirit, becoming children of God, forgiven of their sins, and receiving eternal life by the grace of God. Salvation brings adoption into God’s family.

He leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, affirms our identity as God’s children, enables our obedience, anoints our ministry and empowers our witness and mission.

The church is the body of Christ both local and universal, given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit’s gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.

All believers share in the ministry and priesthood of Jesus, proclaiming Him as Lord and the resurrection as a sure hope for eternal salvation. This means seeking to align all of life with God’s reign and purposes. Extending the kingdom involves both personal and cultural transformation, living as ambassadors of God’s kingdom in every sphere of life.

Marriage is a sacred and lawful covenant between one natural man and one natural woman, established by God in accordance with Scripture, exclusive to the couple and constitutes the God-given context for sex.

The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement. The redeemed will enjoy eternal blessedness with God, while those who reject Him will be eternally separated from His presence when He establishes and brings together a new heaven and new earth.

Theological Distinctives

As followers of Jesus, we celebrate Baptism and the Lord’s Supper as gifts Jesus gave to His Church. Our theology isn’t simply what we believe. It shapes how we worship, how we serve, how we live and how we make disciples.

Those who desire to confess the Lord Jesus Christ in this way shall be baptized by immersion, symbolising identification with Christ’s death and resurrection, provided the person officiating has satisfied himself/herself regarding their personal salvation.

Partaking of bread and wine, symbolising Christ’s body and blood, in remembrance of His sacrificial death until His return. Participation shall be open to all who love the Lord Jesus Christ and who have accepted Him as the Son of God and their personal Saviour.

God’s will gets done on earth as it is in heaven through His people when, like Jesus, we align and work with him to bring his grace, mercy, healing, freedom, righteousness and justice wherever we can. While this happens only partially and imperfectly at present, this kingdom work will be completed and perfected by Jesus when He returns.

We believe that being continually filled with the Holy Spirit and operating in all the gifts of the Spirit under His anointing are critical to the mission of the church to usher in God’s Kingdom in the world.

We believe in the role of women in all levels of leadership. We believe that women and men are equally gifted and qualified to lead and serve as co-labourers in the church. We therefore value and actively champion the presence of both men and women at every level of church leadership.

The gospel of Jesus proclaims both sins forgiven and wrongs put right. We work together with God structurally and relationally towards restitution and reconciliation as the fruit of true repentance and forgiveness.
